theeasygrader.com is an independent set of grading tools with one job: turn raw test scores into percentages, letter grades, weighted averages and GPAs in a few seconds. No accounts, no paywalls, no 40-field forms. Enter your numbers, get your grade, get on with your day.
Who runs this site
theeasygrader.com is built, owned and maintained by WorkflowDay, an automation and web development studio. We spend most of our time removing repetitive manual work from people’s days, and grading is one of the most repetitive jobs there is.
The site started with a stack of quizzes. A teacher we worked with was grading 60 papers by hand, punching the same division into a phone calculator over and over. Twenty out of twenty-five. Eighteen out of twenty. Six wrong out of forty. The math is trivial, but doing it 60 times in a row is not, and one slip means a student gets the wrong grade.
So we built a tool to do it. Then a version for weighted course averages. Then one for working out what you need on a final. Those tools became this site.
Every calculator here is coded, tested and updated by our own team. There is no outsourced content and no third-party widget doing the math behind the scenes. When something is wrong, we fix it ourselves.

You should not have to trust a calculator blindly, so here is exactly what runs behind each tool.
The core formula
Every percentage on this site comes from the same calculation: (points earned ÷ points possible) × 100. For the Easy Grade Calculator, points earned is your total questions minus the number wrong. Nothing is rounded until the final display, so a 26.5 out of 30 stays 88.33% rather than drifting to 88%.
The grading scale
Letter grades follow the standard US A–F scale: A+ 97–100, A 93–96, A- 90–92, B+ 87–89, B 83–86, B- 80–82, C+ 77–79, C 73–76, C- 70–72, D 60–69, F below 60. Schools do set their own cut-offs, so always check the percentage against your own syllabus if your school grades differently.
Weighted averages
The weighted calculator multiplies each category average by its weight, adds the results, then divides by the total weight entered. That means it still gives you an accurate running grade even when your weights do not yet add up to 100% — useful mid-semester when some categories have no scores in them.
Checking and updating
Every calculator is tested against worked examples before it goes live and re-checked whenever the code changes. Guides carry a visible last-updated date. If a formula, a scale or an explanation on this site is wrong, reporting it is the fastest way to get it fixed — corrections usually go live the same week.
Who it is built for
Teachers
Grade a stack of papers without picking up a calculator between each one. Enter the total questions once, then just change the number wrong for each student. The grading chart shows every possible score for that test at a glance, so you can mark straight down the pile.
Students
Check a quiz score before it is posted, track your running course average, and find out what you actually need on the final instead of guessing. Students who are not surprised by their final grade are usually the ones who ran the numbers all semester.
Parents
Double-check the grades that come home and see what a low test score really does to an overall average. It makes the conversation about what to work on next a lot more concrete than “try harder”.
What this site does not do
- No sign-up, ever. Every tool works the moment the page loads. There is no account to create and no email wall in front of a result.
- Your grades stay in your browser. The calculators run entirely on your own device. Scores you type in are not sent to a server and are not stored.
- No paid tiers. All calculators and guides are free. The site is supported by advertising, which never changes what a calculator returns.
- No official grade reporting. These are planning and checking tools. Your school’s gradebook is always the official record, and its rounding rules take priority over ours.
