Who we are

This policy covers the website theeasygrader.com and every calculator and guide published on it.

The site is owned and operated by WorkflowDay, an automation and web development studio. WorkflowDay is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy — meaning it decides why and how that information is handled.

What we collect

You do not create an account here and we never ask you for your name, your school or your student records. What is collected falls into three groups.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, web beacons (also called pixel tags) and device identifiers. The site uses them in these categories:

• Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to load, stay secure and remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off through our consent tool.
• Preferences. Remember small choices such as whether you turned on decimal display in a calculator.
• Analytics. Help us count visits and see which pages and calculators are actually used.
• Advertising. Set by Google and its advertising partners to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure ad performance.

You can refuse or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, and, where a consent banner is shown to you, through that banner. Blocking advertising and analytics cookies does not stop any calculator from working.

Google advertising and Google cookies

This site is free to use and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display those ads. The following disclosures are required by Google and we make them in full.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — how many people visit, which calculators get used, which guides need improvement, and where errors occur. It reports on groups of visitors, not identifiable individuals, and we do not use it to build profiles of named people.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies. You can block it site-wide with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by declining analytics cookies where a consent banner is shown.

We also use Google Search Console, which reports on anonymous, aggregated search queries that lead to this site and sets no cookies on your browser.

Other third parties

Besides Google, a small number of service providers process data on our behalf or receive it as part of normal web delivery:

• Our web host, which stores server logs needed to serve pages and keep the site secure.
• Our content delivery and security provider, which sees request data in order to block attacks and speed up page loading.
• Our email provider, which handles messages you choose to send us.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks may use cookies, JavaScript or web beacons in the ads that appear on this site. These are sent directly to your browser and automatically receive your IP address. We do not control those cookies and cannot access them. Consult each provider’s own privacy policy for details of how they use the data and how to opt out.

Why we are allowed to use your data

If you are in a region covered by the GDPR or UK GDPR, our legal bases are:

• Consent — for advertising and analytics cookies, and for anything else the consent banner covers. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interests — for keeping the site secure, preventing abuse and fixing faults, using the minimum server log data needed.
• Legitimate interests — for replying to an email you sent us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how it is used, withdraw consent, request a portable copy, and complain to your data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA also give you the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and disclosed, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. Because advertising cookies can qualify as “sharing” under California law, declining personalised ads through the controls above, or through your browser’s global privacy signal, is treated by us as an opt-out.

To exercise any right, email theeasygrader.com@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. Because we do not hold accounts, we may need to ask for information to locate any records that relate to you — and in many cases there simply are none, which we will tell you plainly.

How long data is kept

• Calculator entries: never stored at all.
• Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymised by our host.
• Analytics data: retained according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics property, after which it is deleted by Google.
• Emails you send us: kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
• Advertising cookies: expire on the schedule set by Google and its partners, and can be deleted by you at any time.

Children’s privacy

theeasygrader.com is a general-audience website intended for teachers, students and parents. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

No account, name, email or any other personal detail is required to use any calculator, and the numbers entered into a calculator are never transmitted to us.

If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email theeasygrader.com@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

Parents and schools should be aware that this site shows third-party advertising. If you are using it in a classroom setting with younger pupils, review your institution’s own policy on ad-supported websites.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, software is kept updated, and access to the small amount of data we do hold is limited to people who need it. That said, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, operate globally. This means data described in this policy may be processed on servers outside your own country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the safeguards our providers have in place, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the site changes or when the rules do. The current version is always published on this page and the “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
